Mission: Episode 15 - A Time of Healing
Location: Observation Lounge, Vidal Fleet Yards
Timeline: Day 2 at 1459

The time was edging closer and closer to fifteen hundred hours which was the pre-determined time for the gathering in the observation lounge. Neela had wanted for her officers to relax and enjoy themselves. This wasn't supposed to be formal and so she had tried to spread the word that it wasn't going to be in uniform.

Most of the personnel, from what she could see, had arrived and were dressed in casual civilian clothing. Even she'd shown up in civilian clothing. Drinks had been served from a table for the officers to enjoy as well. She found her Exec, "Where's your husband?" She asked.

Stephen had been standing nearby when the question was asked, "Yeah," He said to the newly minted Executive Officer. "I figured he would have shown up with you."

Jordyn waved her hand, "The new Chief Scientist will be along shortly I'm sure," She said. "He had... Something to do really quick."

Manuel walked in with his full dress uniform on him. When he looked around and saw how everyone was wearing civilian clothing he immediately became very confused. Manuel walked over to his wife, "Jordyn... Honey?" He asked.

Jordyn snorted, "Oh there you are," She said.

Reid was confused as he walked by, "Commander de Planca why are you in your full dress uniform?" He asked Manuel.

"I was told this was a formal event by someone," Manuel replied while shooting a sideways glance at his wife. "I probably should go change..." He groaned uncomfortably.

Jordyn shook her head, "Oh no you don't," She told him. "You get to suffer," She explained. "Consider it the price you pay by having your wife as your Exec." She told him.

Stephen smirked before walking away from them. "I'll just go over there and get something else to drink."

Neela was trying to not laugh at the situation, "I've got to go talk to my other officers," She said and waved her hand above her head before walking away from the situation.

Tagorn watched the room and realized just how many of the people inside it were his friends. He had seen Manuel come in wearing a full dress uniform and smirked before turning in a different direction.

S'Toriin came up to Tagorn, "Enjoying yourself Commander?" He asked the new Logistics Officer.

Tagorn caught a glimpse of S'Toriin from the corner of his eye, "Of course," He answered before drinking the glass of water in his hand. "I'm just thinking about how much things have changed you know?" He asked rhetorically, "And, how many things stayed the same."

S'Toriin agreed with the assessment, "Oh yes," He said. S'Toriin had taken a moment earlier in the day to go aboard the USS Onnar and see the ship. It felt almost identical to when he walked onto the bridge for the first time as the Chief Operations Officer there.

"How's the baby?" Reid asked after stopping near Kelsi.

Kelsi placed her hand on her stomach, "The baby is doing okay," She said. Kelsi wasn't showing, but most people knew she was pregnant. The situation as to how that happened was not something she openly spoke about. "It just makes me nervous is all."

"Nervous?" Reid asked her, "Because of what happened or the prospect of motherhood?" He asked.

"Both," Kelsi said somewhat calmly. "The doctors here still don't know what to expect with the baby. Anything could happen and it's concerning, but so far the pregnancy has been normal over the last couple weeks."

Kara was walking by when she heard Kelsi talking about the pregnancy, "You're coming by my office in the morning right Commander?"

Kelsi immediately turned and looked at the Counselor, "Of course." She answered.

Gredrol was busy thinking about how if he wanted to talk to Captain Naadel he'd have to do so via subspace. He never really had a chance to express how he felt after the strange number of things that had happened. He could almost describe it as a pit in the bottom of his stomach that he'd tried to shake loose.

"Is everything all right?" Novra asked Gredrol.

Gredrol looked at Novra, "Yeah," He said. "I just miss Iazil, I know it's not even been a day yet."

Novra smirked, "You can always call her on subspace. Her ship hasn't gone that far yet. In fact I think they just left two hours ago or something like that." She pointed out.

"I suppose that's true," Gredrol said with a weak grin, "I just don't think it's quite the same Commander." He said. "I'll get used to it though," He said. "Eventually," Gredrol concluded quietly.

Novra gently patted the Klingon on the shoulder, "It's all right," She said. Novra then walked away from the Klingon so he could pout on his own if he so desired.

Once Neela was satisfied that everyone was comfortable in the room she made her rounds to each of her senior officers. Neela came back to the front of the room and indicated the long columns of chairs along the table. "Let's have a seat." She said from the head of it.

Jordyn took her place near the Captain and adjusted in the seat. She looked down both rows and realized just how big the staff had gotten since they first came to the station over a year ago. A slight grin appeared on her face as she eyed her husband who was the only person in their uniform.

Manuel sat down next to his wife, "You know I'm going to have my revenge right?" He asked her.

"Of course," She whispered back.

Stephen sat down one seat down from where he had normally sat at the table then cleared some space. He didn't bring anything to record on so he hoped his wife hadn't prepared anything. Stephen had understood it to be an informal event anyway.

S'Toriin sat down opposite from Commander de Planca and made himself comfortable. "How did she manage to convince you to wear your dress uniform in the first place?" He asked Manuel from across the table.

"She said this was the proper attire for the meeting." Manuel said while shooting a sideways glance at his wife. "I didn't see the message from the Captain and just assumed..."

Reid sat down next to S'Toriin, "I suppose you shouldn't just assume," He said. His wife had played a number of pranks on him over the years of their marriage. However, he was surely convinced that neither of them had achieved the level that Jordyn had achieved.

"You just have to assert dominance sometimes," Jordyn said playfully.

Neela eyed the two of them with a slight smirk on her face, "I don't think I've had officers in my command quite like the two of you," She said quietly.

Kara sat down in a chair and rotated around to face towards the Captain. She rarely came to senior staff meetings these days because anything she needed she could just talk to Doctor O'Malley about. Without a second senior counseling staff member she determined that she would need to come more often again.

Novra sat down next to Kara, "Hey," She said quietly.

Kara looked over at Novra and had a soft grin on her face, "Hey," She said.

Kelsi sat down at the table for the first time since being made a member of the senior staff. She made herself comfortable and then looked towards the Captain. It was strange to be considered a senior officer, however, she would be able to get used to that soon enough.

Neela watched as the officers gathered and sat down comfortably one by one before she started to speak. "Thanks for coming," She looked at Manuel, "And, thanks for the entertainment."

Jordyn laughed under her breath quietly at the comment while looking directly at her husband, "You do look dashing," She replied.

"Absolutely," Tagorn said, "When I saw you I thought I was underdressed for this event. At least we know you have your dress uniform ready if the Captain needs it though right?" He asked and looked at the other officers with a smirk on his face.

"I'm going to get you back," Manuel said while shaking his head.

Neela let the conversation go for a moment, "Mostly the idea behind this event is so that everyone gets a chance to meet each other. It was Commander de Planca's idea to hold a less formal event in order to do so. So intermingle with each other and relax." She told them, "And thank you for taking the time out of your schedules for an unplanned meeting of sorts." She then let them get up and mingle among themselves.
