Things down on the planet hadn't really gotten much better in Brandon's opinion, but that seemed so far away. And, quite irrelevant for the moment as he sat there trying to enjoy his drink and the company. A grin on his face as he looked at Courtney.

"It's great that we decided to do this," He said quietly, "Sorry that I've been so distracted tonight," He commented and nearly jumped when he heard someone behind him yelling, 'Dabo' quite loudly.

Courtney snorted with her hand over her face, "It's okay," She said and reached out before patting his hand. "I think some others are coming to join us in a minute too right?" She asked and looked over her shoulder. Courtney had thought they'd invited a couple others to join them.

Brandon looked past her, "I'm not sure," He said and frowned. "It's possible that Doctor Potter and Lieutenant Sinjohl may be joining us?" He asked rhetorically with a shrug.

"Sorry," Tagorn said as he appeared and sat down at the table with the other two. "Sadie and I were having a bit of a private conversation before we actually got here and lost track of the time." He frowned.

Sadie was right behind Tagorn and had sat down, "We were talking about someone else." She looked at Tagorn for a moment, "We were talking about Doctor Fairchild."

Tagorn placed his hands onto the table, "Well at least I took the conversation to be a private one," He looked at her for a moment before speaking again. "I guess Doctor Fairchild has been considering a transfer after being offered a different position."

Courtney was a bit surprised, but she barely knew the Doctor because she'd spent so little time with her. "What is the nature of the position that was offered to her?"

"Executive Officer of a starship," Sadie answered.

Brandon sat with his mouth hanging open for a moment and swirled the contents inside of his cup. "Well," He said finally after hearing another person shouting in excitement behind him. "I suppose that would be a welcome change for her." He said with a shrug.

He then looked at Tagorn, "Why do I get the feeling that you're not viewing this as a good thing?"

Tagorn shook his head, "It's not that," He said quietly. He wondered if, as loud as it was in the bar, he was being heard. "I don't know what it is exactly, but I know it's not really that. I'm just worried that she may be doing this because of me.

"We've been fighting a lot lately for some strange reason," He said a bit more loudly than before. "I think this place has really strained our relationship or something and I've been considering asking someone else out on a date anyway." Tagorn admitted.

"Oh?" Courtney asked.

Tagorn's cheeks turned a slight shade of pink, "Yeah I've been thinking about it but haven't really acted on it. I don't know how she would react if I started seeing someone else. I know our relationship ended years ago, but sometimes I wonder if there's still something there."

Sadie shrugged, "From what I understand, I would say not." She told Tagorn as a Ferengi came around and got her drink order sorted. She leaned all the way forward and placed her hands down onto the table. "Who were you thinking anyway?"

"Jaiba," He said quickly. "I've been thinking about it for a little bit now so..." His voice seemed to trail away as he waved the Ferengi server away with his hand and leaned back. His arms were soon crossed over his chest, "I'm just not sure if there's anything there either..."

Brandon was convinced that this was an insecurity issue with his friend, "Have you contacted Tolam via subspace in the last few days?" He asked, "Or, sat down with Kara and seen if there was anything that she could do to help you out?"

"Kara is probably busy," Sadie answered. "She's been trying to work with Ashley de Planca as I've come to understand. The girl is still struggling with her memory loss from the days that she was missing.

"And, with the protests getting significantly worse on the planet's surface a lot of people are quite busy," She said. "The children were wanting to have a wonderful beginning to their summer break and so far many of them have been stuck indoors."

Courtney nodded slowly, "Besides Ashley being at the medical center most of the children who are on the planet or on the station have been in their quarters shut away. I think they are starting to become a bit stir crazy at the moment." She said and reached out to take Brandon's hand again.

Tagorn nodded, "I know..." He said as he looked at each of them, "I've been quite busy myself with all the ships that my teams are working on in the drydock slips. It's been quite hectic and my department has been stretched pretty thin."

"That's true across the entire engineering department," Courtney told him.

Sadie had noticed that they'd managed to change the subject. She sat there quietly for a moment, "So you're going to avoid asking someone you might like out on a date because you've been busy and because of the protests?

"Life has to go on you know?" She asked both rhetorical questions back to back before answering them at the same time. "I think you should certainly continue to live your life. I think that's true of all of us," She admitted.

She smiled and reached out before taking Tagorn by the hand, "You should also sit down and talk to Suzanne. Let her know that you support her decisions whether she decides to stay here or accept her promotion and transfer."

Brandon looked at Sadie for a moment and grinned as the Ferengi came back around and refilled drink orders for them. The bar was a busy place with so many people and it was quite hard for him to really hear them. That didn't matter because he cut through it like a knife through butter.

"I agree with Sadie on this," He said. "Just because a million things are happening doesn't mean our lives should just stop. The president of the Federation isn't going to be the only high profile person to visit the system."

"I suppose you're both right," Tagorn said as the Ferengi server came back around and he actually ordered something to drink. "So when was the last time that you two had a date night to yourselves?" He asked with a slight smirk on his face.

Courtney swallowed hard, "Well you see..." She said and looked at Brandon, "We've not had a true date night in a few days actually," She said. "But, we've got plenty of time to do that and we've been considering different living arrangements on the planet."

Brandon nodded, "We've been talking about that, but we've not come up with anything beyond just that." He remarked with a grin on his face. He knew that Tagorn was trying to trip them up with his questions. "You know, perhaps when you have your date night we can do a double date or something?"

"Fantastic idea," Sadie said with a slight laugh. "I would still talk to Kara too when you get the chance," She said with a shrug. "Just because Kara is busy doesn't mean you shouldn't take the time to talk with her."

Tagorn nodded, "Okay," He answered Sadie. "I'll talk to her."

Brandon grinned again as he took another drink from his recently filled glass, "Good." He said, "And, you've got to tell us how your date goes too!" He told his friend next just as the volume of the room steadily increased once more from the gambling tables nearby.
