Chelsea found herself smirking as she looked at the cards in her hand and the three that were down on the table before placing the two cards back down. She dropped a chip into the pile that had started to build up in front of her, "Raise I guess," She commented slyly.

Chelsea had eventually dropped the smirk on her face, realizing just how long it had been since any of them had spent any time together. How much had changed since they'd done this sort of thing. "So," She said and looked at the others, "Anything interesting?"

Jordyn shrugged her shoulders, "That depends on your definition of interesting. Though, Manuel mentioned something about Cassidy wanting to talk to Jeffery about something?" She questioned and eyed him.

Stephen grinned as he put his two cards into the growing pile of discards to his left, "I hadn't heard about that. What happened?"

Jeffery grunted as he looked over his shoulder one more time to make certain that the sleeping young girl hadn't come out of her room. He had a hard enough time getting her to bed an hour earlier. "Well, it's not something I'm really too keen to talk about."

Suzanne had discarded when the turn had come around to her, "Oh really now?" She asked. "Now that sounds like a story if you ask me," She mentioned.

Tagorn was looking right at Suzanne for a moment while trying to decide what he wanted to do. "Oh you should tell us what happened," He agreed.

Jeffery was rubbing his forehead as he forgot that they were playing a card game for the moment. Once more he'd looked behind him, "Okay, so Cass wanted me to talk to our daughter about some of her odd behavior lately. And, wanted me to also mention to her some boundaries with her exploratory nature."

Reid had perked up, "Okay?"

Novra was also quite interested, "Well they've gotten themselves into some pretty sticky spots lately," She said then realized she may want to be a bit more specific than that. "I mean Arika and her friends," She concluded then looked directly at Jeffery. "Continue please."

Jeffery looked at the two of them before placing both hands down onto the table. "Anyway," He started to say with a bit of an exaggerated tone in his voice. "So, I sat down with her after asking her if I could come into her room," He looked at the others for any sign that they may say something.

When they didn't he continued to talk, "She was playing and, of course, she agreed to talk to me. Well, before I could get six words into what I wanted to say she informed me that she'd already heard all about the birds and the bees."

Jordyn snorted and about spit out the drink she'd been trying to take, "I'm sorry..." She managed and recovered, "Go on."

Jeffery eyed his friend for a moment then continued to talk. "So this was after asking if that was what I wanted to talk about. I made the horrible mistake of asking for an explanation and who told her about this.

"She informed me that Elizabeth had told her all about when Mommies and Daddies love each other very much because she'd overheard something at school. The conversation spiraled from there," He said and had started to rub the base of his forehead.

Jordyn blinked for a moment uncertain what to say. Eventually she looked at the others for some sort of guidance on the matter without saying anything at all. But, in the back of her mind she wondered what it could possibly be that her daughter had told the six-year-old girl.

Novra was smirking as the spotlight seemed to shift from one parent to the other. She imagined life would be so different for each of them had they not had children, much less daughters. "So um," She finally started, "What did Elizabeth tell her."

Jeff shrugged, "Something about ice cream."

Jordyn sighed a breath of relief. "Well that's good," She answered. "We've given our daughters the talk so at least my daughter left that much for you. So what else was said?" She asked.

Jeff nodded his head slowly, "So something about how when people get bigger they get confused and how birds lay eggs for bees. Asked me if girls or boys laid eggs," He shrugged as he tried to remember the conversation that had gone so wildly out of control

He was scratching the back of his head, "Anyway that shifted to a conversation about when girls get bigger..." He said as his voice got steadily quieter.

Stephen found himself quite curious, "Well," He said encouraging Jeff to continue to talk about what had happened. "What did she say about when girls get bigger?"

Suzanne nodded, "I'm curious from a..." She paused, "A medical standpoint." She said finally after formulating the perfect reasoning and looked at Tagorn and the others for some sort of approval.

Tagorn realized that the game had been forgotten some minutes earlier and now they were onto a topic that seemed to be spiraling into some strange direction. He caught Suzanne's eye, "I'm just curious," He admitted.

Jeff looked at all of them in utter bewilderment. "Well she explained that girls get taller, bigger chests, and really emotional. Then one day they become super happy again." He shrugged.

"Well that's good," Chelsea said suddenly.

"Good?!" Jeffery said somewhat loudly as he blankly stared at his fellow Commander for a moment. He wondered what she could possibly mean by good.

Novra smirked before letting a slight laugh out, "It's good that she explained all the physical attributes of what we go through as women during puberty." She explained to Jeffery. "She isn't quite aware of the hormonal changes just the physical ones."

Stephen nodded, "It means she's self aware." He reached out and patted his friend on the shoulder. "There's nothing to worry about Jeff."

Jeffery looked back and forth between the two of them, "You both have a strange sense of what's good," He said then placed his head into both of his hands. "I'm so not ready for this..." He said quietly.

Stephen continued to pat him on the shoulder, "Now imagine going through this with a girl and not her Mom there to help you." He said with a soft smile, "You're putting entirely too much stock into it."

"Girls and women are so strange," Tagorn stated.

Suzanne kicked him softly under the table, albeit she meant it in a playful way and calmly turned her attention back to Jeffery. "You're letting this get you far too worked up. Doctor O'Malley is absolutely right it's perfectly normal for a girl to become aware of physical changes before the others."

Novra nodded, "Jami went through the same thing as a child. And, I'm sure Arika is handling it just well. She's becoming aware of all the things that come with growing up."

Jeffery was still rolling his head in his hands for a moment as they all spoke before finally sitting up. "I've not said anything to my wife yet."

Jordyn had sat there quietly while the others talked to their friend. "Both of my daughters went through this as well. They are still kind of going through it and it's perfectly natural. Besides it'll make the talk later that much easier."

"There's a later talk?" Jeffery asked horrified, "What sort of talk later is that?"

Chelsea snorted underneath her breath. She found herself so glad to not have any children yet, "The talk about puberty and growing up dork," She told him playfully. "It would probably be best to have that conversation sooner rather than later."

Jordyn nodded, "She's young yet so you probably have another year or two before that conversation really needs to happen. But, I would recommend just having it now since she's already self aware of certain things."

Jeff shuddered at the thought before looking at his cards again, "If you really think it necessary."

Reid leaned back in his seat, "Of course it's necessary. And, at least it won't be like when Teagan was little..." He said then thought about it for a moment, "I mean younger she's still little I suppose." He hadn't liked the prospect of his daughter growing up.

Novra looked at Reid for a moment, "That sounds like a story?"

Jeffery felt some sense of relief as the conversation had shifted away from Arika who, when he looked over his shoulder again, was still sound asleep in her room. He then returned to the conversation as he had once again forgotten about the playing cards.

Reid shrugged as he leaned back in the chair, "Well yeah," He said and thought about the story for a moment. "So as you know she's a bit different than most children. And, she was also wildly curious about herself too. Which the Counselor's didn't seem all that concerned about.

"Anyway, when she was eight years old and she began to develop a little bit her mother and I caught her in the bathroom shirtless staring at them," He commented. "She didn't really know what to make of it so her mother and I sat down and had the conversation."

Novra smirked, "Well that could have been worse."

Reid had found himself shrugging again, "Well she wanted to know all sorts of details including when this sort of thing happened to her mother. It went downhill pretty quickly, but I think Elizabeth handled it well," He said of his wife.

"See?" Stephen said with a nod then looked at Jeffery, "You've got nothing to worry about."

Jeffery looked at Reid for a moment before his gaze had shifted back towards Stephen, "If you say so..." He said. The problem was Jeffery was very concerned about it. And, his expression certainly didn't change for quite some time after the conversation had finally ended either...
