Command (Vidal Fleet Yards)
The Command department is ultimately responsible for the ship and its crew, and those within the department are responsible for commanding the vessel and representing the interests of Starfleet.
Commanding Officer Ultimately responsible for the ship and crew, the Commanding Officer is the most senior officer aboard a vessel. S/he is responsible for carrying out the orders of Starfleet, and for representing both Starfleet and the Federation. Executive Officer The liaison between captain and crew, the Executive Officer acts as the disciplinarian, personnel manager, advisor to the captain, and much more. S/he is also one of only two officers, along with the Chief Medical Officer, that can remove a Commanding Officer from duty. Chief Strategic Operations Officer The Chief Strategic Operations Officer is responsible for coordinating all Starfleet and allied assets in within their designated area of space, as well as tactical analysis (in the absence of a dedicated tactical department) and intelligence gathering (in the absence of a dedicated intelligence department). Sector Commander Advisory Admiral The advisory Admiral is there to assist the Commanding Officer who is still a junior Flag Officer in matters that require the attention. Yeoman The Captain's Yeoman is for Petty Officers who wish to continue as administrators. It is technically a non-Mate position. Use of this position is completely at the discretion of the Commanding Officer. File work, and sensitive message transport are but two examples of the Yeoman's possible duties. Engineering (Starfleet Corps of Engineers)
The engineering department is led by the Chief Engineering Officer. The department is responsible for the drydocks in the system as well as any ships that are in the system for refit and repair. A separate section is responsible for designing new technologies & ships, construction, and fabrication. The entire department falls under the assigned detachment from the Starfleet Corps. of Engineers.
Chief Engineering Officer The Chief Engineering Officer oversees the assigned Starfleet Corps of Engineers detachment on the station. S/He is responsible for the ships that are docked in the drydocks for maintenance and the research and development projects that are taking place in the various labs. This is the senior officer of the department and they report directly to both the Commanding Officer and the Starfleet Chief Engineer back on Earth. Assistant Chief Engineering Officer The Assistant Chief Engineer assists the Chief Engineer in the day to day running of the Engineering Corps.
If so required, the Assistant Chief Engineer must be able to take over as Chief Engineer and thus are well versed in the functionality of the station and the Starfleet Corps of Engineers.Engineering Yeoman The Engineering Yeoman is intended to function as the scheduling officer for all starships that are set to undergo refit and repair. They track and maintain all records of repairs and review all requests before they are approved by the Chief Engineer and Commanding Officer. -
Engineering Division Chiefs
The division chiefs are essentially Chief Engineering Officers who are leading specific divisions within the entire engineering department.
Division Chief, Construction The senior starship construction officer is responsible for coordinating the construction efforts on vessels that are being built in the drydocks. S/He works closely with the other senior officers in SCE. S/He reports directly to the Chief Engineering Officer. Division Chief, Refit The senior starship refit officer is responsible for coordinating the refit efforts on the vessels drydocked around the station. S/He works closely with the repair lead in coordinating when the vessels are ready for departure. S/He reports directly to the Chief Engineering Officer. Division Chief, Fabrications The Chief Engineering Officer of the Fabrications Department. Division Chief, Repair The senior starship repair officer is responsible for the vessel repair efforts taking place in the various drydocks. S/He coordinates the repair efforts at each drydock and tracks when a vessel is ready for departure after checking over the work completed by the engineering team. The Ivaldi III Government is charged with the day to day running of the planet. From the Governor down to the Senators the Governing body runs all matters of civilian life on the planet. They try to do what is best for the civilians living and working on the planet.

Medical (Starfleet Medical Center)
The medical department is responsible for the mental and physical health and well-being for all personnel living and working on the station. At times they may also support the civilian medical center on the planet.
Medical Administrator The director of medicine is in charge of the day to day operations of the Starfleet Medical Installation on Ivaldi III. Deputy Medical Administrator The deputy director of medicine assists the director with the day to day operations of the Starfleet Medical Installation on Ivaldi III. Chief Medical Officer The Chief Medical Officer is responsible for the physical health of the entire crew, but does more than patch up injured crew members. His/her function is to ensure that they do not get sick or injured to begin with, and to this end monitors their health and conditioning with regular check ups. If necessary, the Chief Medical Officer can remove anyone from duty, even a Commanding Officer. Besides this s/he is available to provide medical advice to any individual who requests it.
Additionally the Chief is also responsible for all aspect of the medical deck, such as the Medical labs, Surgical suites and Dentistry labs.
S/he also is a department head and a member of the Senior Staff and responsible for all the crew members in her/his department and duty rosters.Assistant Chief Medical Officer A starship or facility has numerous personnel aboard, and thus the Chief Medical Officer cannot be expect to do all the work required. The Asst. Chief Medical Officer assists Chief in all areas, such as administration, and application of medical care. Medical Officer Medical Officer undertake the majority of the work aboard the ship/facility, examining the crew, and administering medical care under the instruction of the Chief Medical Officer and Assistant Chief Medical Officer also run the other Medical areas not directly overseen by the Chief Medical Officer. Head Nurse The Head Nurse oversees all the Nurses currently aboard, ensuring they are assigned to tasks and working as required in their area. Additionally the Head nurse performs the normal duties of the nurse, assisting the Duty Medical Officer in sickbay. Nurse Nurses are trained in basic medical care, and are capable of dealing with less serious medical cases. In more serious matters the nurse assists the medical officer in the examination and administration of medical care, be this injecting required drugs, or simply assuring the injured party that they will be ok. The Nurses also maintain the medical wards, overseeing the patients and ensuring they are receiving medication and care as instructed by the Medical Officer. -
Surgery
The surgical department is primarily focused on performing both emergency surgeries and non-emergency surgeries. The personnel on the station in this department can also function on the planet if needed.
Division Chief, Surgery The division chief for surgery is in charge of the surgical division assigned to the Starfleet Medical Center aboard the station. Surgeon Doctors of the federation still specialize and mostly, the Chief Medical Officer position is usually held by a general practitioner. While simple surgery is part of their training, some doctors on larger vessels and starbases prefer to have a surgeon on staff. -
Intensive Care Unit
The Intensive Care Unit is an advanced care unit capable of caring for personnel who are gravely injured. There is also a subsection for neonatal intensive care that falls into this departmental responsibility.
Division Chief, Intensive Care Unit The division chief for the intensive care unit is in charge of the intensive care unit and neonatal intensive care unit. Medical Officer, Intensive Care Unit Medical officers are assigned to Intensive Care to provide aide to people who are in this wing of the medical section of the station. Nurse, Intensive Care Unit Nurses are assigned to the intensive care unit are front line personnel in aiding people who are in the unit. -
Emergency Care Unit
The Emergency Care Unit is essentially the emergency room aboard the station. Should personnel need emergency care that goes outside normal care this is where they go. The Emergency Care Unit is capable of responding to all sorts of mass casualty events and can be used for triage support.
Division Chief, Emergency Services The division chief for the emergency services division is in charge of all emergency situations when they arise, such as mass casualty events. They are also in charge of the Emergency Ward. Medical Officer, Emergency Services Medical officers assigned to emergency services work as front line doctors to anyone who comes in for emergency care. Paramedic Paramedics respond to patients who could not otherwise arrive at the emergency ward on the station. Nurse, Emergency Services Nurses in the emergency services specifically care and treat patients in mass casualty events or who come in for emergency services.

Promenade Merchants Association (Station Civilians)
The promenade merchants association is a committee of all the merchants who operate shops, restaurants, and others on the promenade of Vidal Fleet Yards. Opening of a new shop is automatic membership. There isn't an assigned leader and all members have an equal vote on any matter that's brought to their attention.
Parin's Bar & Gambling Owner Parin's is the premiere bar and the only gambling establishment that is presently aboard the station. It is known far and wide as the place to go and earn Latinum in the sector and is considered to be similar to Quark's on Deep Space Nine. Club Tiutchev Owner Club Tiutchev first opened in 2389 on Vidal Fleet Yards. It has since expanded to locations down on the planet. Unknown to the station population the business is actually a front to the Tiutchev Syndicate. Traffic Control (Vidal Fleet Yards)
Traffic Control maintains and operates most of the auxiliary craft for the station minus the workbees that are operated by the detached Starfleet Corps of Engineers. Personnel also work in the Operations Center by directing vessels within station controlled space. They track vessels entering and exiting the space around the station and monitor activity in the surrounding sector. Traffic controllers perform general maintenance in conjunction with piloting the auxiliary craft that are assigned to the station.
Chief Traffic Control Officer The Chief Traffic Control Officer is responsible for directing the department and reports directly to the Commanding Officer. This is a senior officer position on board the station and they are directly responsible for all traffic around the station. Assistant Chief Traffic Control Officer The Assistant Traffic Control Officer is responsible for assisting the Chief Traffic Control Officer in the day to day running of the department. They are also capable of taking command of the department in the absence of the Chief Traffic Control Officer. Traffic Control Officer The Traffic Control Officer helps in station operations to guide all vessels operating in the space surrounding the station. They are charged with guiding vessels entering and exiting the space surrounding the station by providing vectors and permission to enter and depart. Shuttlebay Manager The Shuttlebay Manager is responsible for pre and post flight checks of all support craft involved in away missions. Once a support craft has been brought to the flight line, it is his/her duty to ensure that it is mission capable. Upon returning from a mission, he/she must inspect the support craft and prepare a report on any maintenance that is required.
He/she is also responsible for the placement of support craft in order to allow for maximum efficiency of the shuttlebay.Chief Support Craft Pilot All small spacecrafts aboard a starship, starbase or a facility (Shuttles, Runabouts, Transports, Captain's yacht, Patrol Vessels etc.) but excluding fighters are flown by Support Craft Pilots. This is often the proving ground for pilots until they earn a berth on a starship as a Flight Control Officer.

Security (Vidal Fleet Yards)
The Security Department protects the personnel living, working, and visiting the station are kept safe and out of harms way while guaranteeing that nothing threatening nor harmful is present. The personnel within security also guarantees the safety of the traffic in and around the station. They investigate any crimes that may take place and, are capable of combat operations should it become necessary. The armory and weapons systems are under the direct control of the security department. At times the security department can also act as an intelligence gathering department when necessary.
Chief of Security The Chief Security Officer is called Chief of Security. Her/his duty is to ensure the safety of ship and crew. Some take it as their personal duty to protect the Commanding Officer/Executive Officer on away teams. She/he is also responsible for people under arrest and the safety of guests, liked or not. S/he also is a department head and a member of the senior staff, responsible for all the crew members in her/his department and duty rosters. Security could be called the 24th century police force.
The Chief of Security role can also be combined with the Chief Tactical Officer position.Assistant Chief of Security The Assistant Chief Security Officer is sometimes called Deputy of Security. S/he assists the Chief of Security in the daily work; in issues regarding Security and any administrative matters. If required the Deputy must be able to take command of the Security department. Chief Investigations Officer The Chief Investigations Officer is responsible for all investigations that take place both on the station and on the planet. They report directly to the Chief of Security. Master-at-Arms The Master-at-Arms trains and supervises Security crewmen in departmental operations, repairs, and protocols; maintains duty assignments for all Security personnel; supervises weapons locker access and firearm deployment; and is qualified to temporarily act as Chief of Security if so ordered. The Master-at-Arms reports to the Chief of Security. -

Division Chief, Habitation The division chief for habitation is responsible for the security of the habitat section of the station. Division Chief, Engineering The division chief for engineer is responsible for the security of the engineering section of the station and for the security of the drydocks and other engineering orbitals. Division Chief, Dock & Storage The division chief for dock and storage is responsible for the security of the dock and storage areas of the station and planet. Station Operations (Vidal Fleet Yards)
Station operations is responsible for keeping station systems functional, rerouting power, bypassing relays, and acting as the maintenance or repair crew for the station. The operations department functions as the station's engineering staff by keeping the fusion reactors online and repairing any system or subsystem that fails. Station operations is also responsible for the transfer of supplies to and from all vessels within the space surrounding the station. Operations is also tasked with the maintenance schedule for the other departments minus the Starfleet Corps of Engineers detachment on board.
Chief Operations Officer The Chief Operations Officer has the primary responsibility of ensuring that station functions, such as the use of the lateral sensor array, do not interfere with one and another. S/he must prioritize resource allocations, so that the most critical activities can have every chance of success. If so required, s/he can curtail shipboard functions if s/he thinks they will interfere with the ship's current mission or routine operations. The Chief Operations Officer is also responsible for the upkeep and maintenance requirements of the station.

In addition, the Quartermaster controls all physical assignments to quarters throughout the vessel. Boatswain Each vessel and base has one Warrant Officer (or Chief Warrant Officer) who holds the position of Boatswain. The Boatswain (pronounced and also written "Bosun" or "Bos'n") trains and supervises personnel (including both the ship's company or base personnel as well as passengers or vessels) in general ship and base operations, repairs, and protocols; maintains duty assignments for all Operations personnel; sets the agenda for instruction in general ship and base operations; supervises auxiliary and utility service personnel and daily ship or base maintenance; coordinates all personnel cross-trained in damage control operations and supervises damage control and emergency operations; may assume any Bridge or Operations role as required; and is qualified to temporarily act at Operations if so ordered.
The Boatswain reports to the Chief Operations Officer.Transporter Specialist The Transporter Chief is responsible for all transports to and from other ships and any planetary bodies. When transporting is not going on, the Transporter Chief is responsible for keeping the transporters running at peak efficiency.

Counseling (Starfleet Medical Center)
The counseling department is directly responsible for the mental health and well-being of personnel living and working on the station.
Chief Counselor Because of their training in psychology, technically the ship's/facility's Counselor is considered part of Starfleet medical. The Counselor is responsible both for advising the Commanding Officer in dealing with other people and races, and in helping crew members with personal, psychological, and emotional problems.
The Chief Counselor is considered a member of the Senior Staff. S/he is responsible for the crew in his/her department. The Chief Counselor is the Counselor with the highest rank and most experience.Counselor Because of their training in psychology, technically the ship's/facility's Counselor is considered part of Starfleet medical. The Counselor is responsible both for advising the Commanding Officer in dealing with other people and races, and in helping crew members with personal, psychological, and emotional problems. Counselor's Aide The Counselor's Aide helps keep all the matters of the Counseling Department in order. S/he assigns appointments for anyone needing them, and assists the Counselors with anything that they may need. Morale Officer Responsible for keeping the morale of the crew high. Delivers regular reports on morale to the Executive Officer. The Morale Officer plans activities that will keep the crew's morale and demeanor up. If any crew member is having problems, the Morale Officer can assist that crew member. -
Psychiatric Ward
The psychiatric ward is meant to handle patients with severe mental illness.
Psychiatric Counselor Psychiatric Counselors are specialized in the field of mental health services. They are specifically trained to work in mental health wards across the Federation. Medical Officer, Psychiatric Ward Medical officers assigned to the psychiatric ward are intended to provide medical care and administer medications. Nurse, Psychiatric Ward Nurses assigned to the psychiatric ward help treat patients and administer medications.

Logistics (Vidal Fleet Yards)
The logistics department is solely responsible for supplies and are a liaison between Starfleet and civilian freighters. Starships, both Starfleet and civilian, that come into port to resupply and refuel specifically rely on the logistics department. While, typically the logistical department falls under engineering or operations, on larger stations they are a separate department.
Chief Logistics Officer The Chief Logistics Officer is in charge of the logistics department. They are considered a senior member of station staff and report directly to the Executive Officer and Commanding Officer. Assistant Chief Logistics Officer The Assistant Chief Logistics Officer assists the department head with the day to day operations of the logistics department. Logistics Officer The Logistics Officer is responsible to the resources used by the S.C.E. while making certain that all departments have those resources. -
Science (Vidal Fleet Yards)
Personnel in the science department assist in the research and development labs in conjunction with regular duties aboard the station. Regular duties for the science officers and crewman include general scientific research, stellar cartography, spacial phenomena in the surrounding sectors, and any investigative work that is requested by the Commanding Officer. The Science department is also responsible for Research and Development aboard the station.
Chief Science Officer The Chief Science Officer is responsible for all the scientific data the ship/facility collects, and the distribution of such data to specific section within the department for analysis. S/he is also responsible with providing the ship's captain with scientific information needed for command decisions.
S/he also is a department head and a member of the Senior Staff and responsible for all the crew members in her/his department and duty rosters.Assistant Chief Science Officer The Assistant Chief Science Officer assists Chief Science Officer in all areas, such as administration, and analysis of scientific data. Science Officer There are several general Science Officers aboard each vessel. They are assigned to their duties by the Chief Science Officer and his Assistant. Assignments include work for the Specialized Section heads, as well as duties for work being carried out by the Chief and Assistant. Chemist R&D Officer R&D Specialist Astrometrics Officer Specialized Science Officer in charge of the Astrometrics Section. This role entails the maintaining, correction and production of new stellar maps. Has close ties with the the Physicist and Stellar Cartographers. Archaeologist Specialized Science Officer in charge of the Alien Culture Section. This role involves the study of all newly discovered alien species and life forms, from the long dead to thriving. Their knowledge also involves current known alien species. Has close ties to the Historian.
