General Overview

Katie Halstead is an outgoing and adventurous young woman. Her choice to enter Starfleet was not a shock to her parents nor her sister. However, her choice to enter into the sciences division did come as a bit of a surprise to them. During her academy days she learned self-defense and later applied to be a security officer. One day Katie would like to switch back into the sciences and perhaps even gain her masters in chemistry. Like most young officers she also dreams of one day being in the center chair of her own starship.

Personal History

Katie Halstead is the younger sister of Jennifer Halstead and was born in 2367 on Deneva. At the start of the Dominion War her family moved back to Earth where they would remain until the end of the war when they would move back to Deneva in 2376. The outbreak of the Dominion War made Katie realize just how dangerous the universe really was. This was what eventually led to her decision to join Starfleet.

In 2385 she officially joined Starfleet Academy to study Chemistry with the hopes of becoming a chemist in the sciences division. However, in 2389 as she was approaching graduation day orders for the USS Onnar had opened up to many in her class. Nothing was available in the sciences, but there were openings in security. She made the decision after her knowledge of just how dangerous such an expedition could be to switch to security. In 2389 after graduating from the Academy she received her first assignment as a Security Officer on board the USS Onnar.
