Welcome!

The events of the Battle of Ivaldi III at the conclusion of the year 2390 will be forever etched into the minds of the United Federation of Planets. Starbase 812 and Starbase 813, known as Vidal Station and Cessna Station respectively, have been destroyed. The Ivaldi System no longer exists and with it Ivaldi III was missing for four long years. Evidence of the destruction of four planets and one moon now exist where the system once remained. Nobody knew what had happened to one of the planets… Until now!

It is 2394 and contact with the United Federation of Planets has been re-established for the planet Ivaldia, once known as Ivaldi III. For the citizens and Starfleet personnel of Vidal Fleet Yards a very long and grueling reascension is about to begin. Under the command of Captain Neela Izal and Commander Iazil Naadel, the crew of Vidal Fleet Yards finds themselves not only four years into the future, but in an entirely different quadrant.

Now located in the Vulara System in the Delta Quadrant the crew of Vidal Fleet Yards and the civilians living on the planet must rebuild. Starfleet has a very limited presence in the Delta Quadrant with limited resources. Starfleet and civilians alike must now unite as one and reconstruct their lives in this new playing field. The Fleet Yard must be reconstructed and a damaged planet must be allowed to heal…

Vidal Fleet Yards is an engineering centric simulation set in the Star Trek genre and specifically located in the scenic Delta Quadrant. As the only Fleet Yard for tens of thousands of light years the expeditionary vessels of Pegasus Fleet’s Task Force 37 must rely on them to enact repairs and maintain supplies. Vidal Fleet Yards is also the flagbase for Task Force 37 of which Captain Neela Izal is the Commanding Officer.

Please feel free to have a look around and read the stories as written by the crew of this great simm and the civilian cast of characters. At the moment we are not presently recruiting for new players and not accepting new applications. However, that may eventually change.

» What's A Planet To Do? - Simm Update

Posted on Wed Feb 17th, 2021 by Captain Neela Izal in General News

All,

I am proud to announce that Season 2 has come to an official close and thus has begun Episode 13. This is the beginning of Season 3 and there is a lot in store for this upcoming season. Also take note of some other changes as discussed to you all by the Command Team a few days ago. The Commanding Officer for the simm is now the Commanding Officer for Task Force 37 in Pegasus Fleet and so we have moved the simm to Task Force 37.

This brings with it the following two important items:

- The planet Ivaldi III is now called Ivaldia and has moved to the Vulara System in the Delta Quadrant.
- The simm is now set in 2394 following a temporal anomaly.

As always please enjoy what is in store for Season 3 and for Episode 13 which is now live. Any posts that may have been pending are now moved to the new episode so please make changes accordingly. And, as always keep up the excellent work.

Thanks,

Command Team

» End of The Year Updates

Posted on Tue Jan 12th, 2021 by Captain Neela Izal in General News

All,

With the start of the year 2021 we are now officially putting 2020 behind us. December was a bit of a slow month, but I'm happy to see the slight rebound so far this month. I hope that everyone has had a wonderful holiday period and are ready for this new year.

Last year we saw our second year anniversary on the 29th of November and the joining of a new fleet prior to that. In November the simm was awarded the Bronze Simm of the Month and the month before that awarded Task Force D74 Simm of the Month.

The wiki is a bit outdated, but the command team and I are hard at work figuring out what updates are necessary. Season 3 is nearly planned out which brings me to my next point. Episode 11 is now officially completed so pat yourselves on the back. The end of the fun episode means that we will beginning a more serious story so please brace yourselves.

The Command Team has put a lot of thought into this episode and have approached some of you about potential ways to add additional twists and turns into it. This is also the final episode for the second season and the end of the 6 Shard Arc.

I am happy to announce that Episode 12 - When The Bough Breaks has finally begun!

I would like to finish this update with one thing of note:

It is my express pleasure to award the Player of the Year Award to not one, but two players on the simm:

S'Toriin who plays Ashley de Planca - We have watched the player behind S'Toriin develop his child character over the past few months. This character has been through a lot and we have seen many twists and turns with her. He has done a great job of writing this character, but also his other characters as well.

&

Jami Bostru - The player behind Jami Bostru joined us on the USS Onnar just under three years ago. We have watched her grow as a writer and she continues to grow and develop. It is the express pleasure of the Command Team to award her this. She has stuck it out and continues to improve her writing skills. At her age she has already proven herself to have quite a talent and we cannot wait to see more from her this year.

Thanks,

Command Team

» "Almost" 2 Year Anniversary

Posted on Fri Nov 27th, 2020 by Captain Neela Izal in Sim Announcement

All,

In just under 2 days this simm will officially be 2 years old. I have wanted to say something profound, but find myself unable to think of anything. I, as a GM, have been reflecting a lot over the last fifteen years since I started writing Star Trek characters. I've thought about how many crazy ideas I've had over the years since my humble beginnings in Gemini Fleet.

Over four years ago when I left the Star Trek simming community I never imagined that I would return. I certainly never imagined that I would sit down one day and quietly say to myself, "Hey I have an idea..." Then see where that idea was two years later.

Vidal Fleet Yards over two years ago started out as this wild idea that I, Captain Wesley Holtz at the time, could run an engineering simm. It was going to be a Fleet Yard and therefore the stories it told would focus around that. I hate to admit that this adventure failed tremendously didn't it?

Two years later and Vidal Fleet Yards, as a simm, is still going quite strong. This simm no longer is simply engineering stories, however, it has grown into something far bigger than that. Last year it was decided that the USS Onnar and Vidal Fleet Yards would be combined into one simm with one vision:

"Write stories based around the characters, not characters based around the stories."

The Command Team and I have truly been impressed with where this simm has gone over the last two years. We are happy to be writing with each and every one of you. We've watched your characters grow, and you all grow as writers. I'm not sure that even the most profound thing could ever express my gratitude to all of you.

So, now as Captain Neela Izal, Commanding Officer (Your GM) I am happy to continue running this simm. Here we sit on the eleventh episode, over 400 written posts, and Season 2 coming to a close in the near future. This milestone has surpassed my wildest dreams...

And, it all started with an idea!

Thank you all and congratulations for reaching this milestone together. May Vidal Fleet Yards continue to grow as a simm.

Yours,

Captain Neela Izal

&

Vidal Fleet Yards Command Team

» Episode 11 - The "Fun" Episode

Posted on Fri Nov 20th, 2020 by Captain Neela Izal in General News

All,

As promised Episode 11 has begun. I would also like to congratulate all of you for making it this far. Vidal Fleet Yards has had it's ups and it's downs, but throughout all of it you've stuck it out. We are fast approaching our 2 year anniversary and starting our eleventh episode. So give yourselves a pat on the back and feel proud of the fact that despite my attempts to break you, you're still here.

Alas, Episode 11 is going to be a bit of a cool down episode and a break from crazy drama. There will be some moments that may be a bit hard, but the Command Team decided that given what is to come we wanted to give the crew a bit of a break to close out the rest of 2020. There really won't be any episode notes with this one and many of the subplots from the last two episodes have been closed out.

Please continue to have fun as we wind down the last month and a half of the year. Season 2's finale is fast approaching and being worked on in the background we intend on also using the time given by writing this episode to start the initial stages of planning out Season 3. It'll be the next stage in the Ortani arc that we've been steadily writing out. Keep up the great work, I am proud of all of you!

Thanks,

Command Team

» Some House Keeping

Posted on Mon Nov 9th, 2020 by Captain Neela Izal in General News

All,

As a general notation we officially moved to Pegasus Fleet last month as was discussed among the Command Team and later voted on by crew. This took place late in the month and it was decided by the Command Team to largely keep this under wraps until a time when it was deemed appropriate to actually announce it via the site News option.

Episode 11 is still somewhat being fleshed out in the background while Episode 10 continues to move along steadily. In just shy of 20 or so days the simm will officially be in her terrible two's so if she misbehaves we'll put her in the timeout chair as discussed. The Pegasus Fleet monthly meeting took place yesterday and I'm pleased to announce that we took home the TF D74 Simm of the Month trophy so congratulations.

If anyone has any questions, needs guidance on where to go with their character, etc. please don't hesitate to ask. Episode 11 will not be overly complex as a "mission" if anyone has any questions regarding that please ask. However, the intention is to give an episode that, yes has a main plot, will focus more heavily on character development than anything else. This is meant to be a fun and humor ridden episode. Please enjoy it and have fun. The official announcement will come once it is time to begin that episode probably later in the month or early in December.

Thanks,

Command Team
